Your baby this week

  • From this week the embryo is called a fetus: the main organs are in place and keep maturing.
  • Fingers and toes have separated and nails begin to form.
  • Under the gums, the buds of the milk teeth form.
  • The baby moves its arms and legs and can bend its head.

Your body this week

  • Your blood volume is rising, so veins on your breasts and tummy may show more.
  • Tiredness and nausea may carry on, but they usually start to ease over the coming weeks.
  • Some women feel dizzy, especially when getting up quickly.
