Second trimester

Week 25 of pregnancy

Your baby is the size of a cauliflower. It knows your voice, and its hair is growing in with its own colour.

Length, head to heel
≈ 34.6 cm
Weight
≈ 660 g

Your baby this week

  • The baby reacts to your voice and may settle or move when you speak.
  • Hair grows and gains colour.
  • The nostrils open, so the baby can practise "breathing" amniotic fluid.

Your body this week

  • Your hair may feel thicker, because less of it falls out.
  • You may feel numbness or tingling in your hands and fingers, as swelling presses on the nerves in your wrist.
  • Heartburn and restless legs at night are common.
